Description

Brandon DeVere. Host of the Summerlin Advice Givers Podcast, as a business owner himself, had an interest in meeting other smart business owners and fascinating entrepreneurs. When he started to reach out to these people, and started talking to them, he realized others needed to hear their stories too. These were experts in their respective fields, smart and intelligent, not to mention, many had discovered unique ways to impact the lives of their customers, clients and patients. So he asked, “Why not share these stories? Why not interview these people? Create a Podcast? Why not create a site where they could be posted and listened to?” With that, the concept for Summerlin Advice Givers was born. For more, visit: www.SummerlinAdviceGivers.com

“The Road To Happiness Is Truly Within Ourselves”     You may not expect to hear this words form a hardcore punk rocker but that is exactly who they came from. Cody Leavitt who has been and currently is in multiple “punk” bands has decided to use this outlet to help kids and teens alike escape less than ideal living situations including helping them get off the streets and out of gangs. Although Cody’s original reason for starting a band was to “get girls”, it now serves a much higher purpose and that is to create an environment where kids can trust him and he can play a role of a “big brother” type mentor. Teaching them anything from audio engineering and songwriting to going on tour and having girl problems. Cody has a fascinating outlook on life and how happiness may be much simpler than many of us think. His example of “cross-stitching” is mentioned a couple of times but I feel the simplicity of this example is what makes it so great. By changing the world by changing his world first then changing his community he is reaping the return on investment that he has been making over the years in this kids and in his vision to make the world a better place. I am honored to have had the chance to share a conversation with Cody and encourage everyone to pursue their passion, document it and share it with others to enjoy. You might not now how many lives you might change for the better.       Ideas and Topics  Discussed in This Episode: Mentoring the Punk Rock Scene Giving Kids an Outlet Cross-Stitching Document Your Passion and Share it With Others Canyon of Happiness   Links/Resources/Sponsors Mentioned: werewolfmedia@gmail.com   Thanks for Listening!
